2024 is four years away. That is a pretty long time. A lot can happen between now and then. But, it is never too early to look at a possible list of 2024 Democratic candidates for President.
On both sides of the aisle, people have been worried about the health of Vice President Joe Biden. At the rate that he is going, it looks as though he will not serve two terms as POTUS if he is elected on November 3rd.
This means that whether or not Biden is elected this year, there will be a new candidate for the presidency in 2024.
I have compiled a list of possible 2024 Democratic Presidential candidates. Let’s check them out…
I would be crazy if I did not include congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) on this list.
Over the past few years, people across the country have fallen in love with AOC. From the girls on Tik Tok to the people in line at Starbucks, everyone loves her.
Her widespread support started when she decided to run in 2018 for Congress. Before her run for a job at the US Capitol, AOC was just a bartender in the Big Apple.
AOC constantly makes news for her far-left opinions. She embraces Socialism and Medicare for All.
Her ideas might seem crazy to many, but she is firm in what she believes in most of the time.
However, a run in 2024 would be pushing the eligible age requirement to be the Commander-in-Cheif. She would turn 35 (the age needed to be the POTUS) just one month before the general election in 2024.
To me, AOC is not a serious candidate in the slightest. She is simply a fan-favorite.
It would be an absolute shock to not see Governor Andrew Cuomo on the stage in 2024. Andrew Cuomo is one of the most well-known governors in the entire country. He has a huge personality and even bigger aspirations for a bid to be the Commander-in-Cheif.
Cuomo has been blessed with a democratic legislature that helped him easily pass a boatload of legislation. This obviously makes him look good to many voters.
Cuomo also fits the ideology of the Democrat Party that has grown increasingly farther left by the week. He even gave undocumented immigrants driver’s licenses. If that isn’t Democrat than I don’t want what is.
However, Cuomo has faced heavy criticism for his Covid-19 response. The Governor allowed coronavirus patients back into nursing homes in his state. In turn, this caused the death of many seniors in nursing homes.
Out of all of the possible 2024 Democrat candidates, Cuomo has the most experience and seems the fittest to run.
In 2018 both Stacy Abrams and Beto (Robert Francis) O’Rouke threw themselves into the spotlight by trying to turn their respective states blue. They both wanted to erase the red and paint the states blue. In the end, they both fell short of their target. However, each handled their new spotlight and fame very differently.
Instead of taking a break, O’Rouke jumped right into a 2020 Presidential campaign. However, his campaign received little to no support throughout the country. He had seemed to have lost his charisma from just one year earlier that almost flipped a red state blue. O’Rouke took back-to-back losses.
On the other hand, Abrams joined an organization after her loss in Georgia. She also maintained her public image and fame quite well.
To earn the vote of a nation in 2024, it would only make sense that Abrams hold some kind of political office before she attempts to run to be POTUS.
She is definitely not the strongest possible 2024 Democrat Presidential candidate, but she could make a long run to be the Commander-in-Cheif.
We obviously have four years for this to play out and there will be many more candidates that will surface. One in particular, which I did not mention, will be Joe Biden’s Vice President choice. His VP will more than likely get an endorsement from Biden himself. This could carry some weight come 2024.
We will definitely see some new faces surface during these next four years as well as some familiar faces. However, one thing is for sure they will all need to make their mark in order to establish themselves as politicians of the next generation.
